The Fernwood Neighborhood Association established it’s Board of Directors on April 3, 2024. The Board consists of Greg Lvov-Wolfe as President, Rebecca Cain as Secretary and Kerry Baughman, Christina Winter and Sergei Lvov-Wolfe as Board members. The Fernwood Neighborhood Association is recognized Federally as a 501(c)3 non-profit, and is incorporated in the State of Michigan. The association bylaws can view here.

President
A resident of Traverse City, Greg brings over 25 years of experience in the high-tech software industry to the Fernwood Neighborhood Association. Throughout a career leading global enablement strategies for major enterprise companies like IBM and Box, as well as fast-growing startups, Greg has built a reputation for driving team alignment and value-driven engagement. Guided by his core tenets of remaining insatiably curious and open to new perspectives, he focuses on building collaborative frameworks that bring diverse groups together to solve challenges. Greg is eager to channel this deep passion for connecting people and fostering community into enhancing the vibrancy and cohesion of the Fernwood neighborhood.

Secretary
A Traverse City resident with a deep background in nonprofit operations and relationship management, Becky brings a wealth of community-centered experience to the Fernwood Neighborhood Association board. Her career is defined by roles that connect people and support local initiatives like Fund Development & Community Engagement Coordinator for Building Bridges with Music. Becky’s local impact also includes her past work as the Dir. of Community Experience for Commongrounds Cooperative and as a community manager for Commonplace Coworking. Combining a background in fine arts and social work education with practical expertise in fundraising, and volunteer coordination, she is deeply committed to keeping Fernwood thriving.

Based in Traverse City, Kerry Baughman is the Executive Director of the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency (NMCAA), where she leads efforts to eliminate poverty and empower local families across a ten-county region. Over her 17-year tenure at NMCAA, Kerry has dedicated herself to strengthening local communities, previously serving as a home visitor, a Great Start Collaborative Coordinator, the manager of the Early Head Start program, and the Director of Early Childhood Programs. Kerry’s career is defined by a deep-rooted passion for infant and childhood mental health, strategic community outreach, and building collaborative, regional partnerships that ensure all neighbors have the opportunity to thrive.

Based in Traverse City, Christina brings a powerful blend of analytical expertise and educational leadership to the Fernwood Neighborhood Association board. Currently a Senior Actuarial Manager at Hagerty, Christina has spent over a decade leveraging predictive analytics, data modeling, and strategic problem-solving to guide complex business decisions. Before transitioning to the actuarial field, she spent more than eleven years fostering learning as a mathematics teacher and statistics instructor. Christina is excited to apply her skills in project management and analytical insights to support the neighborhood, ensuring Fernwood remains a well-managed and thriving community for all its residents.

A resident of Traverse City, Sergei brings a unique international perspective, strong clinical background, and deep commitment to community wellness to the Fernwood Neighborhood Association. Originally trained as a medical doctor in Russia specializing in physical therapy and rehabilitation, Sergei managed multidisciplinary medical teams and patient care for a decade before relocating to the United States. Locally, his passion for health, community, and sustainability led him to leadership roles at the Oryana Community Co-op, and he currently serves as a Medical Assistant at the Leithauser Skin Institute. Sergei’s empathy and experience in relationship management provide a strong addition to the Fernwood board.
